Letter written by the Chairman of Christian Watch to the Prime Minister, David Cameron
27th July 2012
I write to you on behalf of our Members throughout the United Kingdom to express our concern with regard to your intention to legalise gay marriage. You are no doubt aware that all true Christian organisations are opposed to this because it is completely contrary to the Commandments of our God. We have left on record in the Bible – for our instruction and guidance – the destruction that the Lord brought upon those who indulged in the practices of homosexuality. We have no reason to believe that our nation will escape the Lord’s judgements if we legalise and promote that which He condemns. In addition we are told that we must all, without exception, give an account in the Day of Judgement for that which we do and promote which is contrary to the laws of God.
In the light of the foregoing may you reconsider your decision with regard to this matter, and ever remember that it is righteousness that exalts a nation but sin is the reproach of any people (Proverbs 14:34). If we are to prosper again as a nation it is essential that we keep the Commandments of God.
