“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth”
(Romans 10:4).
The obedience required by the Law, He has given; the satisfaction for sin, which it demanded, He has presented on behalf of His Church and people. Each one is brought by the Holy Ghost to confess: “In the Lord have I righteousness and strength,” Isaiah 45:24.
The Word declares, for the comfort of all who hunger and thirst after righteousness, “In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory,” Isaiah 45:25.
He, Himself the Righteous One, is the righteousness of His people, and they are taught that precious truth, “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him,” 2 Cor. 5:21.
“Of God!” Before the worlds were framed, the whole election of grace was in Christ Jesus.
“Then, in the mirror of His decrees,
Christ and His Bride appeared as one:
Her sins, by imputation, His,
While she in spotless splendour shone.”
“Of God!” By pure regenerating grace are they in Him justified from all things from which they could not be justified by the Law of Moses, perfect in Christ Jesus, “accepted in the Beloved,” Ephesians 1:6; “Complete in Him,” Colossians 2:10.
